“He is THE BEST!”
“Dan Amihud has been our piano tuner for years, and over those years he has become a dear friend to our family as well. Our grand piano is played for family gatherings, holidays, parties and self-pleasure. It is a joy to have music in our home, but our piano was not always as sweet sounding as it is now. Our piano came new from the manufacturer with a stubborn ‘sticky’ and ‘buzzing’ base key that evolved within one month after purchase; the problem continued for 6+ years; no one could fix it, including the manufacturer, and there were also numerous attempts by a slew of ‘professionals.’ Finally, we found Dan, a real professional from heaven, and he repaired the problem while we in amazement watched him work. We have never had the problem return. He’s been our piano tuner for many years now, and we would not trust another soul to touch our piano, he’s made it as perfect and wonderful as we could possibly desire. “Dan is an amazing piano tuner. He really knows his stuff. My piano was producing a very unsatisfying “tinny” sound and there was a lot of after-buzzing of the strings. Added to which, it was way out of tune. Dan voiced the piano into a mellow sound, changing a pinging sound into a deep, rich one. It was as if I had a different piano. He ironed the hammers, and used a needle point tool to soften them, which in turn helped produce the desired tone quality. He tuned the piano first by using an electronic tuning instrument but the real art and talent came in how he afterwards, voiced each key to the one next to it, pulling out keys that did not match and making adjustments. He wasn’t satisfied until all notes were even and compatible with each other. It was an astounding process to watch. I felt like he had built me a whole new piano. I have used other tuners and Dan’s patience and uncompromising ear for exactness made him stand out far ahead of the others.” — Elsa T.
